ABSTRACT
A definition of the term lambert is presented. Named after German physicist, Johann H. Lambert, it is a unit of brightness equal to that seen when a perfectly diffusing surface radiates or reflects one lumen of light per square centimeter. The definition is taken from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
