ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "keratin" is presented. The term refers a family of durable protein polymers found only in epithelial cells. There are hard keratin found in the hair and nails and soft keratin found in the epidermis of the skin. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co. The pronunciation of the term is also provided.
