ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "hypergenesis" is presented. Hypergenesis is synonym of hyperplasia which refers to the excessive proliferation of normal cells in the normal tissue arrangement of an organ. The term originated from the word "genesis" which means generation, birth. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co. The pronunciation of the term is also provided.
