ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "hyperCKemia" is presented. HyperCKemia refers to persistent elevations in the serum levels of the creatine kinase (CK), a muscle enzyme. It is also a condition found in persons with congenital muscle diseases, such as muscular dystrophies or other myopathies. The pronunciation of the term is also given.
