ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "anoplura" is presented. Anoplura refers to an order of insects composed of the sucking lice. The term originated from the words "anoplos" and "oura," which mean unarmed and tail, respectively. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co. The pronunciation of the term is also provided.
