ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "albumin" is presented. Albumin refers to one of a group of simple proteins widely distributed in plant and animal tissues. It is found in the blood as serum albumin, in milk as lactalbumin, and in white of egg as ovalbumin. The term originated from the word "albumen" which means white of egg. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by the F.A. Davis Co.
