ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "afibrinogenemia" is presented. Afibrinogenemia refers to the absence or deficiency of fibrinogen in the bloodstream. The term is derived from the Latin word "fibra" which means fiber and the Greek word "gennan" which means to produce, and "haima" which means blood. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F. A. Davis Co. The pronunciation of the term is also provided.
