ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "adenomyosis" is presented. Adenomyosis refers to a benign invasive growth of the endometrium into the muscular layer of the uterus. The term originated from the word "mys" which means muscle, and "osis" which means condition. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co. The pronunciation of the term is also provided.
