ABSTRACT
This article provides information on endangered species. When an animal becomes less and less plentiful on one part of the Earth or in the entire world, the animal is said to be endangered or threatened. The U.S. Department of the Interior keeps track of endangered and threatened animals. Animals are endangered when the climate of their habitat (where they live) changes in a major way. Sometimes, when an animal population is too large, controlled hunting may reduce the number of animals enough so that the surviving animals can live comfortably with the food available to them.
