ABSTRACT
A network hub that has intelligence built into firmware. Typically an Ethernet hub, it responds to management queries for statistics and to commands for setting the configuration. Managed Ethernet hubs evolved into managed Ethernet switches. Contrast with unmanaged hub. See intelligent hub.
