MEI Panel Stresses "Trade, Not Aid" For Pakistan and Afghanistan

The article discusses the highlights of Middle East Institute (MEI) panel discussion entitled "Assessing the Past, Informing the Future: U.S. Aid Policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan" at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington D.C. on September 19, 2013. MEI's Dr. Marvin Weinbaum served as moderator in the discussion which was held in anticipation of a reduction in U.S. aid to Afghanistan and Pakistan in 2014. Details relating to monitoring of aid by the U.S. are presented.
