ABSTRACT
Information about the topics discussed at the conference on electronic medical records (EMRs) held in Toronto, Ontario in June 2011 is presented. Tom Closson, president of the Ontario Hospital Association, proposed that physicians who do not use electronic medical records should face legal consequences. He suggests that they should be fined for not becoming part of the modern world while arguing for legislation obligating doctors to implement EMRs.
