ABSTRACT
The article discusses the highlights of the 2010 Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) South West Region Annual Lectures. The event was attended by 40 members and guests and featured speakers that included Pia Wilkes and Victoria Edmonds from the Department for Transport (DfT), and Western Traffic Area Traffic Commissioner, Sarah Bell. Wilkes talked about the British government's commitment to the transport sector in the areas of growth and modern infrastructure, while Edmonds discussed the freight sector strategy for 2011-15.
