ABSTRACT
The article discusses the highlights of the Healthcare Financial Management Association's Annual National Institute held in Orlando, Florida on June 26-29, 2011. In the keynote address, Institute for Healthcare Improvement president and chief operating officer (CEO) Maureen Bisognano informed participants that executives can decrease hospital system cost annually by 1 percent to 3 percent by improving safety, engaging patients, and providing true leadership, without sacrificing patient care.
