Information on a workshop on the profession of interpreters presented by Julie Burns at the San Francisco State University Downtown Campus on January 29, 2011 is presented. Topics included the difference between interpreting and translating and the skills and qualifications needed in an interpreter. She also highlighted the importance of active listening and short term memory for the interpreters.
