ABSTRACT
The article discusses the highlights of the international summit meeting about the teaching profession and the Celebration of Teaching and Learning (CTL) conference that were both held in New York City in March 2011. The events were attended by delegations coming from several countries like Belgium, Brazil, and Japan. Some educational issues addressed during the events are described. Workshops on teacher effectiveness and incorporation of technology in classrooms were also organized.
