ABSTRACT
Information on the 1st Sub-Saharan Pulmonary Vascular Hypertension Workshop held at the Hatter Cardiovascular Research Institute in Cape Town, South Africa on April 23 and 24, 2010 is presented. The workshop focused on the development of effective and resource-sensitive strategies to manage pulmonary hypertension (PHT) and to build a registry of patients with PHT. In addition, the event featured distinguished researchers including Sheila Haworth, Denise Hikfiker-Kleiner, and Dirk Otto.
