ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the formation of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History. The minutes from the inaugural meeting held on May 31, 1961 at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Queensland are presented. Information regarding the election of officers, the selection of an executive committee, and the adoption of a constitution is given. A statement outlining the goals of the Society is presented in a report by the group's Chairman and President R. A. Gollan.
