Information on the issues discussed at the annual conference of the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) is presented. Connie Garner, disability policy advisor for Senator Edward Kennedy, highlighted Kennedy's effort to include the Community Choice Act and CLASS Act in the health reform. Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Advocacy staff discussed services offered by service officers. Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Independent Living program was also noted in the event.
