ABSTRACT
The article discusses the highlights of a panel discussion during the State of the Industry audio conference held on February 18, 2009. Larry Roth, president and chief executive officer of AIG Advisory Group, believes that meetings are a cost-effective part of their business. Chris Gabaldon, vice president of sales at Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. LLC, stresses the importance of focusing on training, communication and rewarding employees. The commitment of U.S. citizens to the meetings market was pointed out by American Airlines manager Charles Jones.
