ABSTRACT
The article reports on a March 2008 joint conference of the library associations of Sachsen-Anhalt and Thuringia, Germany. The theme of the meeting was "Library Laws" in response to comments by Federal President Horst Köhler in a speech delivered in October 2007. A regional library law that was passed in Thüringen is discussed, as well as a library conference in Sachsen-Anhalt.
