The article discusses the highlights of the Joint International Workshop on Ecological Forecasting: An Indo-US Initiative organized by National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) in Pune, India from August 27 to 29, 2007. The main focus of the event was ecological forecasting, emerging needs and the causes of ecosystem change. The importance of tools such as reliable data to ecological forecasting was emphasized by Doctor S. Sivaram in his inaugural address. Other speakers include Doctors K. Krishna Kumar and S. P. Bagade.
