The article discusses the highlights of the CIPD Professional Standards Conference at Keele University. Mike Watts, CIPD professional development director, delivered the opening address, which focused on the changing shape of work. A wider discussion on flexible routes to membership and the review of the CIPD's professional standards, was led by CIPD programme manager, Paul Strange.
