MSOs weigh VoIP priorities

The article presents information on issues discussed at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers VoIP Symposium. The panelists at the symposium were concerned over the issue of VoIP. VoIP installs is gaining momentum and assuming higher priorities at cable MSOs. Mark Barber, vice president of telephony, Charter Communications said that the automation is critical as companies are focusing on performance and interoperability. Jay Rolls, vice president of telephone and data engineering, Cox Communications said that VoIP has emerged as a viable and competitive business.
