The article discusses the highlights of a working group meeting held by the Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS) on "The Resource Curse in the Gulf" on October 9 and 10, 2016. Topics addressed include an overview of theories on the resource curse and its application in the Gulf, political legitimacy during an oil bust in the Gulf, and a session on hydrocarbon and human rights in the region.
