ABSTRACT
The article discusses the complaints of poets on the poetry review of American critic Randall Jarrell. Jarrell is notorious for his ruthless intelligent and genially murderous style of reviewing. Poets argue that Jarrell is pitiless in his lethal judgment and the critics are too hard for them. Jarrell defends that criticism rarely harms poetry, rather, they compensate the virtues.
