ABSTRACT
Correlates helical computed tomography (HCT) morphology of hyperattenuating hepatic nodules seen during the arterial phase scans with the histopathology of explanted cirrhotic livers from patients who underwent liver transplantation. Correlation of pretransplant alpha-fetoprotein levels with the histological diagnosis; Conclusion that patients with cirrhotic livers should not be disqualified for liver transplantation because a number of hyperattenuating nodules found on arterial phase HCT were regenerating and dysplastic nodules, and not hepatocellular carcinoma.
