ABSTRACT
The author comments on the need for the voluntary sector to see itself as a mini-company that sells the benefits of what it creates to a willing customer. He explains that the idea is healthy since it places the employment relationship on a more grown-up footing. He cites an example where an employer should move on, but the employer cannot force the issue. He also talks about economic trends, including short-term projects found in more and more work.
