ABSTRACT
The author offers insights on the decision of the British Supreme Court on the case, Smith & Ors v. Ministry of Defence, also dubbed as the Snatch Land Rover claims. According to the author, the decision defines the extent and nature of the British government's obligations to protect soldiers on active service abroad. She stresses that the law has established that soldiers remain within the jurisdiction at all times even when deployed abroad.
