ABSTRACT
The authors discuss the article "Phosphorylation of FOXO3a on Ser-7 by p38 promotes its nuclear localization in response to doxorubicin," by E. W. Lam and colleagues. They say that forkhead box O (FOXO) proteins are transcription factors' subgroup that have a conserved DNA-binding forkhead domain. They note that the article presents solid evidences supporting the conclusion on p38 directly phosphorylated FOXO3a at Ser-7.

Rare disruptions of FOXP2 have been strongly implicated in deficits in language development. Research over the past decade has suggested a role in the formation of underlying neural circuits required for speech. Forkhead box O (FOXO) transcription factors are regulators of cell-type specific apoptosis and cell cycle arrest but also control longevity and reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS-control by FOXO is mediated by transcriptional activation of detoxifying enzymes such as Superoxide dismutase 2...

Both Foxp3+CD4+ regulatory T cells (Treg cells) and local immune responses in nonlymphoid tissues have long been recognized as important elements of a well-orchestrated immune system, but only recently have these two fields of study begun to intersect. There is growing evidence that Treg cells...

Considerable evidence supports the prediction that CD25 is directly regulated by the forkhead transcription factor FOXP3. However, given that CD25 is normally upregulated in activated T cells, regardless of whether they express FOXP3, this issue has still to be definitively demonstrated. Here we...
