The author reflects on the vulnerabilities of mobile devices to unauthorized physical access due to loss or theft which can result in access into the enterprise's systems and data environment. Mobile device or information management solutions, and data leakage prevention functionality are suggested to offer some protection to end-users and applications. He argues that the security solutions are insufficient as devices are configured to bypass them.
