ABSTRACT
The author assesses the status of the U.S. fuel industry. According to the author, weather has an influence on consumer sentiment as evident in a survey showing that 85 percent of Americans are planning to go on a summer vacation in 2013 despite rising fuel prices. He claims that fuel market participants should also be reassured that gasoline, diesel and biofuels are likely to remain the dominant fuel choices for decades to come, given the transportation industry's reliance on these materials.
