The article offers the author's insights on his musical score of the National Hockey League (NHL) piece "Hockey is Back" for the 2013 season. The author states that the piece had temp music as its original concept in which he opened with an ambient piano and layered with guitar tracks. He mentions that he chose the intensity with tempo-synched crowd stomps, layers of guitars, and chants for the second half of the piece, and used a massive cathedral in Altiverb to increase ambient hugeness.
