ABSTRACT
The author discusses the aspects of the February 26, 2012 killing of African-American Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida. He cites U.S. President Barack Obama's statement saying that all people have some soul-searching to figure out how something like the killing happens. He argues that the U.S. Catholic bishops have undertaken a major campaign to defend religious liberty, putting the Health and Human Services mandate regarding contraception as the greatest threat.
