The author contends that the British government's Responsibility Deal is likely to influence and guide people in making healthy lifestyle choices. The program is described as a social marketing initiative that affects behavioral change. Getting producers and retailers of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) to reinforce social norms about healthy eating is addressed. The development of a cooperative approach between public and private partners to achieve sustainable and beneficial change is cited.
