The author discusses the importance of conservation of natural resources which needs help from parks and recreation agencies, which she imparts at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Congress in Atlanta, Georgia. She states that she was disappointed by the audience's referral of conservation to recreation services and programs. Furthermore, recreation and park agencies must be the leaders in environmental conservation.
