ABSTRACT
In the article, the author discusses the important role played by community cancer centers in cancer care, particularly in the U.S. She cites the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Community Cancer Centers Program that was launched in 2007 to find ways for cancer centers to access the latest cancer treatments for cancer patients and support cancer research. She cites other programs like the one by the Billings Clinic Cancer Center in Montana.
