ABSTRACT
The author comments on a discussion among credit union lenders and four automobile dealers as part of a meeting hosted by Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL). When Kyle Dudgeon, general manager (GM) of Evans Toyota in Indiana, was asked by credit unions what they might do to improve their preapproval programs, he said "simple guidelines" would be a good, first step. Paul McCarthy, GM of Stevenson Auto Group in North Carolina, observed preapproval programs may seem a winning option.
