ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses the lessons that can be learned from the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. He explores the new border walls built by leading democracies after the World War II and the fall of the Berlin Wall, such as by the U.S., the European Union, and India to prevent outside people seeking freedom and economic opportunities form entering the area. He says that border walls are effective at preventing the movement of poor people.
