ABSTRACT
In this article the author comments on the study conducted by researchers Laurence Ball and Sandeep Mazumder that evaluates the effectiveness of Phillips curve in assessing consumer inflation in the U.S. He discusses the two parts of the explanation of the study that account for the behavior of inflation in the country. The author commends the correctness of the study in pointing out the consistency of the Phillips model, however, argues that the framework did not explain all inflation dynamics.
