ABSTRACT
The article discusses author's views on the impact of extended-duration thromboprophylaxis with enoxaparin on medical patients with acute illness. It states that venous thromboembolism is decreased, and major bleeding events is increased in patients with acute medical illness by extended-duration enoxaparin. A chart focusing on the advantages of extended-duration enoxaparin over placebo for patients with acute medical illness is also included in the article.
