ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's views on the impacts of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and anemia. The meta-analysis revealed that ESAs targeted to higher hemoglobin levels decrease the requirement for blood transfusions but cause unfavourable outcomes in patients with CKD and anemia. The article also focuses on the benefits of meta-analysis for the treatment of CKD.
