ABSTRACT
In this article, the author discusses a study which examines the safety of long-term biphosphonate therapy to postmenopausal women. It mentions that the outcome of the research showed that postmenopausal women who have been using biphosphonate treatment for five years had greater risk for subtrochanteric or femoral shaft fractures. The design, setting and main results of the study are also provided.
