ABSTRACT
In this article, the authors discuss the selection of empiric therapies for Helicobacter pylori infection. They state that the successful empiric anti-Helicobacter pylori therapies can be divided into bismuth-containing and non-bismuth-containing therapies including sequential, concomitant, and bismuth quadruple therapies. They mention the causes of initial eradication therapy including antimicrobial resistance, poor compliance in taking drugs, and incorrect choice of drugs.
