ABSTRACT
In this article the author presents a discussion on in vitro comparison of the ability of three pediatric cardiopulmonary bypass circuits to filter gaseous microemboli. The author discusses answers to questions asked by Justin Resley, James Beavers, and Ian Shearer on topics including the use of open systems with vacuum-assisted venous drainage at Children's Hospital of Phila-delphia. He also agrees on Robert Groom's suggestion to improve the performance of reservoirs and screen filtration.
