ABSTRACT
In this article, the author discusses aspects of the way to strengthen the recruitment for elite graduate students in China through the expansion of the Chinese government's scholarship programs. He mentions that the support coming from externally funded scholarship programs lacks special recognition for elite students. Furthermore, having external awards for graduate students provide special recognition for individuals who show high potential in pursuing a career in biomedical research.
