ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses a study by Edward Jones-L�pez and collegaues regarding the challenge of conducting research in resource-constrained settings in Uganda. He states that the prevalence of multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) was unknown when the study was proposed and initiated in the country. He says that the study has addressed a significant knowledge gap that will hopefully highlight revisions the country's TB treatment program.
