ABSTRACT
The author reflects on how department store chains Kmart and Sears Roebuck took opposing approaches in the September 2010 issue of "Vogue" magazine where Kmart changed people's misconception about its conservative line of fashion by creating the web site Kmart/Itstrue showing its list of top designers including Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren while Sears took a more conservative approach, giving the impression that there is a little bit of truth to the misconception.
