ABSTRACT
The author discusses the clinical guidelines on the use of noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) based on randomized controlled trials. He says that noninvasive ventilation is recommended for the care of patients who have COPD exacerbation. The author mentions that the failure of noninvasive ventilation need to address early, which requires careful monitoring of patients's blood gas levels and vital signs.
