ABSTRACT
The article comments on the tradition of political violence on the hard left after the liberals claimed that the conservatives' violent rhetoric inspired Jared Loughner to shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and several others in Tucson, Arizona. It describes the romanticism of political violence on the left and indicates that most murderers of U.S. presidents have been Communists. The left-wing motivations for most of the failed presidential assassinations are also noted.
